Healing Intensives

The spacious container of these longer sessions (3–6 hours/day) allows ample time to ground in safety, clear the emotional charge of traumatic memories, and reconnect with your strength.

IFS-Informed EMDR Intensives

Healing Intensives are sessions that are 3–6 hours long and offer an innovative solution for addressing specific traumas, triggers, and patterns. The generous time in an Intensive provides the space to move through processing a memory, without stopping and starting week to week. This spaciousness also allows time for pausing, integrating mindfulness practices, and using intentional strategies that keep the work safe and grounded.

Intensive sessions can be scheduled for several days in a row, inviting you to take a break from your regular routine and devote extended time to your healing. Akin to a personal retreat, some choose to book a nearby hotel or Air BNB so they can fully unplug from the demands of everyday life and attend to their own wellbeing.

Intensive sessions can also be scheduled a week or even a month apart, depending on your goals, constraints, and outside supports. One thing that sets Healing Intensives apart from regular therapy is that they are intentionally designed to be time-limited, rather than ongoing. The amount of days you spend in an Intensive will vary, as they are custom-tailored for each person.

A Healing Intensive may be a good fit for you if . . .

  • You experienced a recent traumatic event, like a car accident, sexual assault, or fire.
  • You experienced childhood trauma or neglect.
  • You have unresolved grief.
  • You are caught in some unhelpful patterns and want to make a change.
  • You have negative beliefs about yourself that impact your confidence.
  • You are seeking greater clarity and want to carve out dedicated time to really listen to yourself.
  • You want to deepen your trust in yourself.
  • You’ve had EMDR or IFS before and know it works well for you — or you’re curious to try it.

Do I need to be in therapy before I can pursue a Healing Intensive?

While many people who seek Intensives are already engaged in regular therapy, it is not a requirement. Intensives can supplement regular therapy work, targeting areas where you feel stuck or traumatic memories that need extra attention.

If you have done therapy in the past and have solid coping practices and a good support network, you may choose Healing Intensives as an alternative to weekly therapy.

What is the process and format?

Before scheduling an intensive, we have an initial phone conversation to discuss your current concerns, goals, and support system to explore whether an intensive format makes sense. If it seems like a fit, you complete a thorough intake form and we schedule an initial three-hour preparation session. Then we schedule up to eighteen hours of intensives (where we meet for a minimum of three and maximum of six hours per intensive session).

Can I use my insurance?

I am not a participating provider with any commercial insurance plans. Instead, I am considered an out-of-network provider and can provide you with a receipt to submit to your insurance company for partial reimbursement.
